Service Projects

Our sangha is all about showing up for each other and for the community with love, kindness, and open-hearted willingness. See what it feels like to be of service.

OuR Sangha In Service

Food Pantry
Join us for a Big Heart City group service day once-a-month, to support The Food Pantry at St. Gregory's.

For the past 24 years, The Food Pantry has provided literally tons of free, healthy groceries to over 500 hungry families each week. They offer fresh food without conditions, in a safe and beautiful space.

It’s a rewarding and fun way to serve alongside your BHC sangha buddies.

WHEN: Monthly on Saturday @ 9am-1pm (the day after the Friday in-person sit)
WHERE: St. Gregory's, 500 DeHaro Street
PERKS! Volunteers take home a box of free food. Coffee and snacks provided.

Prison Penpal Program
Writing letters to incarcerated people is a powerful way to practice compassion and build connection. It’s less about “helping” and more about recognizing our shared humanity. As part of our sangha, becoming a prison pen pal means showing up with an open heart and a willingness to listen, learn, and be present.

Acts of Service & Dana

In the spirit of dāna, being of service is about sharing what we have—our time, energy, and care—with others. It’s a way to practice generosity from the heart. Being of service has a way of reminding us, profoundly, that that our well-being is deeply linked to that of all beings everywhere.
