About The Retreat
Every time I try to write a description of an upcoming retreat, I find it a bit disingenuous. To think that anyone could know what might be alive for us months from now borders on delusion.
Obviously we will focus on the Buddha’s teachings & the many forms practice takes. Sitting, walking, eating etc…
Normally I would generalize now, and then do whatever feels right in the moment, but that feels misleading.
What I really want is for us to open up a space to meet ourselves and each other just as we are. My sincere hope for this retreat is that we can come together and offer opportunities for awareness to arise. To trust in our awakened self in an intimate and spontaneous way.
This will be a silent meditation retreat as usual, with the addition of a session of inquiry each afternoon. There’ll also be daily Q&A sessions.
I hope you’ll join us for our annual Big Heart City Fall Retreat held at the beautiful Vallombrosa Center in the Bay Area.

All tickets include a single guest room with a private bathroom for 3 nights, dinner on Thursday, three meals on Friday & Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday, and dana to Vinny. Tiers 2, 3 and 4 include funds for organizational support and a donation to our scholarship fund. Shared accommodations will not be offered for this retreat.
At check out, you may choose to pay 50% now; the remaining balance of 50% will be due on or before August 26, 2024. The Big Heart City Treasurer will send you an email with a link to pay the balance.
A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Please email info@bigheartcity.org to request a partial scholarship. This is an in-person retreat. There will not be a virtual option to attend.
Cancellations received on or before August 19, 2024 will receive a refund minus a $50 processing fee.
Cancellations received on or before September 5, 2024 will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations received on or before September 12, 2024 will receive a 25% refund.
No Refunds after September 12, 2024.
Refunds are sent via check in the mail. You are welcome to transfer this registration to someone else if you are unable to attend.
